History of the Boston Terrier Club of Milwaukee

The Boston Terrier Club of Milwaukee was first recognized by AKC in 1970-71.  Our Founding Members were Peter and Ann Berka, Richard and Lynn Foral, Joan Beckman, Joan Friederickson, Gladys Wickert,  and Helen Skibbe.

Some interesting and not commonly known information about our club is that originally the name was "Dairyland Boston Terrier Club" but because they did not have enough members they were refused recognition by the AKC.  Members of Western Boston Terrier Club and Detroit Boston Terrier Club joined as members so that we could be recognized.

Later that decade Roger Perry joined and became show secretary until he moved out of state and Donald Foral joined at same time.  We have since held very successful  and enjoyable shows that Boston Terrier fans have come to look forward to annually

Our AKC Parent Club is the Boston Terrier Club of America. Their website has all kinds of great information about our favorite breed!

The AKC website is another awesome website that provides information on all recognized breeds and is an invaluable resource for dog owners
